July 2010 Nursing Licensure Exam Results

It’s been a year since I featured a short clip of the NLE (Nursing Licensure Exam) Results and this year’s NLE pertains to my batch as after almost 2 months of waiting, it fades and it’s all worth the wait.

The July 2010 Nursing Licensure Exam was released about 1:00 p.m. today August 27, 2010 and when my classmate shared me the link, I suddenly look for my best friend’s name but I was jammed and think “why am I looking for his name first? I should look for my name first than of him instead” so hastily go to my surname’s alphabet “Z” and there I saw my name written as

376333 ZERRUDO, ANDREW SEGOVIA

I quickly went in my sister’s room and shout to death even without a thorough confirmation that it’s really my name, that I’m not dreaming “Ate!! Pasado ko!!” I shouted (Ate, I Passed!!) and then I ran again in front of my laptop to do the confirmation and it’s a bit dramatic as I even did slapping my face to tell myself that this is a reality, this isn’t a dream, I passed! so I post into my facebook my status:

Andrew S. Zerrudo R.N!!! My GaaaAd!!!

And started to announce the news via group message and I guess I was one among our batch to know it first because they keep on asking “Lumabas nab a yung results?” (are the results being published?”

Here’s the list of Top Performing Schools

Among 100 and more examinees

Among less than 100 examinees

meanwhile here’s the list of The Top Performing Schools in Region 3.

BuLsu, my dear Alma matter ranked 3rd in Region 3 and 29th nationally, but still a high passing rate were maintained and I know that my future colleagues and previous school mates will continue the legacy. We maybe never make it as the rank 1 in region 3 but we did our best, well who does want to fail anyway?

I know it’ll be a pressure to the next BulSu NLE takers as it’s been 4 consecutive NLE since our school never had name/s on the top 10. But still, it’s not the issue, the issue here is to pass and to top is a supplementary.

Yes, I passed, some of my friends passed but the saddest truth was only some of them passed because some of my friends did not. July NLE 2010 is very unpredictable! Those I thought would pass did not pass and some let it on good luck. But still as what I keep on telling them, having a license doesn’t mean that you’ll be very successful, it always relies on persons determinations, if you want to succeed then give your all to make it, everything happens for a reason. God has a purpose.

For those who passed: Congratulations!

For those who did not: the efforts you gave for the July 2010 NLE deserves a warm Congratulations too… keep believing!

A Salute to Maria Venus Raj - Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner Up

The Miss Universe 2010 was held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S. only last August 23, 2010. It was hosted by the rock star Bret Michaels and a lovely lady Natalie Morales.

There are 83 young lovely ladies who competed for the competition and after 11 years, Miss Philippines gained a place as the Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner Up.

It's been 41 years (1969) since Ms. Gloria Diaz won the Philippines first ever Miss Universe title, it was then followed by Ms. Margie Moran way back 1973, 37 years ago. and then no one follows, but the latest place we ever had is the Miss Universe 1999 1st Runner up gained by Ms. Miriam Quiambao 11 years ago and now Ms. Maria Venus Raj did a history, 4th Runner Up isn't a shame, it is already an honor that from 83 countries who compete for the competition, he shined as 4th defeating 79 of them.

The ever controversial question and Answer portion of our nations bet is now the talk of the town especially the words "MAJOR, MAJOR" which was accidentally said by our candidate.but then, her answer would be the best answer so far, as I cannot think of any better answer than that, just come and think what would you say the failure of your life to impress the judges?? better of tell them you never fail because of the guidance you are receiving, which have been said and done by Ms. Venus.

Do not get intimidated Ms. Venus Raj, for us, showing your best is enough and your place as 5th is a supplementary and it brings honor to our country.

We also thank her for diverting the attention of the sad hostage taking in manila.

somehow, Congratulations to the other winners and so as Ms. Mexico they really deserves their places.

Hong Thai Bus Hostage Taking

“BIG MISTAKE TO CORRECT BIG WRONG DECISION” it is the statement released by the hostage taker just a while ago. A hostage taking that really denounces our nation and maybe not just by our nation but by the other nations especially those who have bigger concerns about it: the hongkong and Korean nationals.

I was really shock when I heard the news past 10 in the morning this day (August 23, 2010), at first I never thought it would be that vulnerable in results as everything in place seems to be in order. The suspect really does posting his wants that might have corresponding solutions and arraignments.

But I get very curious when it is already past 2 in the afternoon and the issue isn’t settled then, the hostage taker also post “Death Lock” after 3 p.m. but still conflict isn’t being resolved. Until Primetime news came up providing each details of the scene.

The issue grew more intensifying when the suspect’s brother was being caught as he is being accused as the accessory of the crime due to the information he is giving to the suspect whenever conversation through the phone comes and right after, the suspect lay several gun shots that really engross the crowd and then every scene is much awaited for future particulars that might come.

The suspect even releases some of the 25 hostages earlier whenever his wants is being granted. But then the scene comes to the point that there are shoot ups by his gun which is known as M-16 in nature. The Driver of the bus suddenly escapes and tells them that no one is alive inside the bus, but then… the crowd doesn’t want to conform with this statement unless verified.

Until the Suspect was shot, and then hostages were rescued, unfortunately not all of the 15 remaining are all alive.

It’s surely a very traumatic experience for those victims but it’s also a very traumatic experience for our own nation. How to deal with the states affected? our tourism? Other nations impression? I can understand why does the government did not comply with the victims possession, credibility parse. A head of state shouldn’t be that weak to be petrified with this issue.

Now as I was updated. 6 hostages were released before the real shoot out. 2 were alive after the shoot out and 4 are confirmed dead.

The action is clearly wrong as perhaps the statement of the suspect: BIG MISTAKE TO CORRECT BIG WRONG DECISION… now, can he say what happened with his big mistake (Hostage taking)? does it correct the big wrong decision (His compulsory retirement)? A big NO right? Because it only put up things worse than the wrong decision he is uttering, but it only results worse things than his mistaken acts.
A mistake shouldn’t always be accompanied by another mistake.
We people should learn.

Please Pray for the Victims of this tragedy.

QUEEN SEON DEOK… on its Superb Finale

I still remember my impression when this show is being aired on TV commercials as the upcoming show of GMA 7 “Another Korean epic-like drama again” I told myself “But I surely watch it” I added.

Since the similar story/legend has started I never fail to watch it; From the journey of Jang Geum in ‘Jewel in the palace’, to the love story of Hwang Jini in ‘Hwang Jini’, and also with the escapades of Jumong in ‘Jumong’ upto this jam-packed challenged life of Dok Man in ‘Queen Seon Dok’.

But I cannot deny that among these shows Queen Seon Dok had the biggest resemblance in my life. It has certain situations that contribute to me/us to still go on in life and fight for our privileges.

This legend enlightens the mission of Dok Man that through the struggles in her life, though there are threats to never make them come true still, the destiny unfolds with her undertakings. She was being held up but fights for what she knew is right and what she knew is better, and I think that must be the distinctiveness of a good leader, a very good leader. But then, last night (August 12, 2010) the story ended having her most loved died in front of her… the most sorrowful ending that through the actors and actresses apposite emotions: it really makes me cry.

A good leader is ready to struggle for what he knew is good for his fellowmen, he is always ready to let go of what he have, even the most important person in his life just for the sake of the most.

Dok Man is correct when she said that in life, there are people who will share the good times with you, there are people who will hurt you and will be up against you and there will be some who will loved you and give all of what they have but still, you must end up living and fighting for your principles and someday, you will be just like her… fulfilling her dreams but still verdict are based on the experiences ever stumble upon.

My Sole Fight…

I am browsing my files and get them in order last night when I found this suitcase of mine containing all my short stories I written when I was in high-school. I was amused to share this short-story I did when I am in fourth year. it has been featured in a university paper and now, i wanted to share.

but the whole story will fill too much space for this blog thus I will only let you read the summary. but for those who wanted to read the whole story... just send me a private message or e-mail me...

This story is about a man who seek revenge for people who take away what he owned.

I was born in a middle-of-the-road family, I mean we are not wealthy but we are not poor. We are lucky that my grandfather is a good business man and he owns certain incorporations here in our country. My father is undergrad but he is an affiliate of those companies I just mentioned, but because he didn’t finish his college he is just an ordinary board member of that business. I always wonder why he doesn’t fight for such position he wanted. He was given a share to the company; I think it’s his prerogative. But he decided to get mute.

My father and my grandfather died several years from now…The whole thing was been taken off by my aunt and uncle. The position was given to us. I was minor then, we decided to give it to my sister who’s in legal age then. But benefits were not given, we stay mute. She finished college and work there and I wonder why she doesn’t have the position for a board of director… I want to strut but she decided to shut up. I graduated college and decided to work there, they didn’t hire me and I started to round the bend.

My sister wants me to shut, but it’s the exact opposite of what I want. It’s been so long since our prerogatives are being taken off from us. I want it to be given. I want to have it.

But I’m just an ordinary person now. I want to be successful more than the success they are having. I want money, more than all the money they have. I want justice… I want revenge… I want our rights.

My dad did not fight for his rights when he know he have all the chances… so as my sister, she can’t fight for our rights, the rights our relatives took away from us several years ago. But I won’t be like them! I don’t want to stay in the corner and stay voiceless as what my father and sister did. I want my voice be left out, I want my rights be given unto me… and now, I have to fight but I have to wait… I have to be prepared with this fight I’m up to, to have the offense with the defenses they had; To have bullets in my guns. I will rise up soon, and let them regret of their brutality. I will take back what is mine
